#GirlPowerMonth: Women Who Inspire Me Vol. 2!

A woman that I admire from history is Eleanor Roosevelt. Her poise and dignity as a First Lady was so inspiring! Her quotes are also so inspirational and I think she is a wonderful role model and strong woman because of her ability to have compassion and connect with others.

I currently admire is current First Lady Michelle Obama. The poise she carries with her is very vibrant. She appears to be a phenomenal mother and wife. I think of her as a strong woman because as I can only imagine it is a tough job being the First Lady of the United States, especially while remaining true to herself in the midst of her husband's work and criticism. She also takes time to encourage healthy life styles which is something to admire as well.
Knowing that there are so many problems in the world that people want to be fixed, inspires me to be a leader today. It makes me want to stand up to the issues and be one of those people who help make the world a better place to live in, like what Eleanor Roosevelt did in the past and what Michelle Obama is doing now.

Amber is a senior in high school and is a Girl Talk Leader in her community. She got involved with Girl Talk because she wants to provide inspiration to all.  She believes that the lessons she has learned in Girl Talk will help her become a great leader of tomorrow.

Tuesday

Testimonial Tuesday: Gabby!

My experience with drama in middle school almost ruined my sixth, seventh and eighth grade years. Because of my experiences, I decided to become a Girl Talk Leader to prevent those things from happening to other girls.  My experience has been amazing because I get to help younger girls deal with what I went through. It makes me feel amazing helping younger ones.

All any middle school girl wants to do is fit in and be popular, which is why the main issues facing girls today are feeling like they aren't able to fit in, reshaping themselves to impress somebody else, and putting someone down to look "cool."

Some topics I feel are most important to discuss are telling girls their worth and how they don’t have to be the most popular to succeed. Another topic I feel is important is gossiping about one another--no matter if it’s a small thing being said about someone or big, it will definitely find a way to come back around.

Testimonial Tuesday: Kendall!

I have had the opportunity to be a part of Girl Talk where I can help people in need and younger girls struggling through middle school. Through the program, I was able to participate in the Buddy Walk, which was a great experience!

Because of Girl Talk,  I get to meet new people and socialize with others. It makes me feel great to be a part of something important. I am a Girl Talk Leader because I get to help others and inspire others to live happier lives
.

In today's society,  many girls deal with drama and gossip. A lot of it can come by mistake or on purpose, but either way it’s hurtful. Through my experience, I strongly believe that girls should be more apprehensive about what they say in general, especially when involving others.  I also believe that girls should remember to walk a mile in someone else's shoes before they spread gossip. After all,  No one deserves to be treated without respect.
